Adam Noack
Adam Noack was a 3-year starter and a 2-time captain as a post-player in his playing days at Fellowes High School in Pembroke Ontario. After missing the competition and camaraderie of basketball at university in first year, he became involved in coaching with the Kawartha Storm Ontario Basketball Club for the remaining of his university years leading the Storm as Head Coach to an Ontario Cup provincial consolation championship in 2000. His work within the Peterborough Community and with Athletics at Trent University was recognized with winning the Lady Eaton College Athletic Support Award and the Trent University Athletic Award in the spring of 2001.
He joined the Renfrew Collegiate coaching and teaching staff in the fall of 2001 and has now coached 862 games with the Raiders coaching Senior Girls, Junior Boys, Senior Boys Basketball teams at various points over the last 20 years. In 2011, he was the Associate Head Coach of the Senior Girls Basketball team that qualified for the provincial championships for the first time in school history. In 2012, he was the head coach of the Senior Boys Basketball Team who qualified for the provincial championships for the first time since 1986 and the 2012 team finished in the top 8 of the province. Adam was the recipient of the Ontario Basketball Recognition Award in 2005 for his work with Renfrew Rush Club Basketball. He was also the head coach of the OBA Regional Training Centre in 2007 and attended coaching school with the FIBA Americas Camp in 2014. He has attained his Level 3 Canada Basketball Certification (now called Advanced Train-to-Train).
Adam has also coached tennis, cross-country running, track and field, volleyball, soccer and softball in his teaching career. Adam coached the Junior Boys Soccer team to the Eastern Ontario title in 2014-the first Eastern Ontario Soccer championship in school history. This feat had the Soccer Team recognized as Frank Lynch Memorial Award Winners for bring recognition to the school.
Inside the classroom, Adam teaches English, Media Studies, and Contemporary Studies and has served on two 5-person provincial writing teams to develop the elearning courses of Grade 11 Media Studies and Grade 12 Families in Canada. He is the social media coordinator for Renfrew Collegiate and holds the same role on the executive of the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletics Association. Adam also serves on the School Sport Advocacy Group for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations
